the sky is a hazy shade of winter

It is 40 degrees, foggy, a little misty, cloudy, and there is no sun.

Half the trees are leafless and the other half are leafy and mossy.

The ground is wet and things are all in shades of grey.

I love this weather. It makes me happy. I think I am meant to live in Oregon or Washington when I am older.

I am stuck inside studying for my Latin American Civ midterm tomorrow. I have ADD and cannot focus on it. The computer is distracting me.

I like If You're Feeling Sinister by Belle and Sebastian. I bought it last night. There's something to be said for buying a CD, even if you can download it online for less money. Cathartic and somehow more real.

I like it when the world is grey. It's more beautiful that way. I hope this weather lasts all week.

chuckle chuckle

25 cents and a picture of Nancy Reagan to anyone who can guess what movie this is from without cheating and looking on the internet (family members are not allowed to compete):

"King of the mountain mountain mountain! King of the mountain mountain! King of the mountain! King of the mountain..."

and also:

"It's called the '80s. Ford was president, Nixon was in the White House, and FDR was running this country into the ground. "

And this movie is totally my next investment. I do make good investments I must say.

sounds like somebody's got a case of the muendays!

New Orleans was fun. I like the French Quarter. It's pretty.

Was not pleased with my tests today. Boo hiss.

Must go study more. Enjoy:

Every time a church bell rings, Mr. T pities a fool.
Mr. T speaks only when necessary. His main form of communication is folding his arms and slowly shaking his head. And regardless of the situation, he is always understood.
Mr.T once punched Chuck Norris at the exact moment he roundhouse kicked Mr. T in the chest. the result was the 80's.
Mr. T invented fools. Realizing the magnitude of his folly, he then created Pity.
23. That's the number of people Mr. T has pitied in the time it has taken you to read this sentence.
On the A-team, Face , Hannibal, and Murdoch were all masters of disguise. Mr. T didn't have to wear a disguise. The bad guys didn't recognize him out of fear.
Mr. T once shook hands with Chuck Norris, or so it appeared, in actuality, their combined power caused an earthquake, which gave their hands a look of shaking to any onlookers, who were probably too scared to accurately testify anyway.
Mr. T puts the laughter in manslaughter.
There are only four horsemen of the apocalypse, because Mr. T is going to walk.
Mr. T's pity for fools is used by mathematicians as a demonstration of the concept of infinity. Mr. T is allergic to doorknobs. That's why he can only kick through doors.
Mr. T coined the phrase, "I see dead people, " after the waiting staff at Denny's forgot his birthday.
Mr. T does not break wind. He destroys it.
Mr. T's edition of the VH1 show 'Where Are They Now' was the shortest in the show's history. It was 10 seconds long, and consisted of a black screen with the words "Right Behind You" written on it.
Mr. T once pitied the sun. An ice age followed.
The last time Mr. T went to McDonald's, Ronald McDonald greeted him. What occured next proved to be the most violent beating of a clown ever recorded in human history.
It took five women 2 years to give birth to Mr. T.
Mr. T is not black. It's just that the sun is to afraid to shine on him

it seems like yesterday was monday. but no. it was wednesday.

This week has gone by ridiculously fast. Crazy.

I'm going to New Orleans this weekend to visit Chloe and Shannon. Tres exciting.

Singles Awareness Day was greatness. Spending it with friends=good idea. And Chocolat is a good movie.

Weird job interview thing last night. Not my cup of tea, but helped me to reaffirm everything I'm doing and why. Sometimes its easy to lose sight of that in life. Nothing like a refreshing dose of anti-goal to make you re-realize your goals. Its nice.

Yoga in 45 minutes. I do love yoga. It's relaxing. Study group later tonight. 3 tests next week. Western Civ and Shakespeare on Monday and Latin American Civ on Thursday. No OC until March. Blah.

I'll being in Southlake tomorrow night before I go to N.O. on Saturday. Maybe it will be crazy awesome. Maybe it will be Southlake. Who knows.

Everyone has sold their souls to Myspace. That is tres ridiculous.

I get to do my French presentation on Samuel Beckett, which is exciting and seemed like a good idea at the time, but looking at my limited control of the French language I doubt I will do him justice. After all, he is a brilliant man and his works deserve more than "this book is good. it is about existentialism and two hobos. It is absurd." so I will have to work on that one.

I got a new play by Beckett called Endgame. I like it. It's like Waiting for Godot but it's definitely got more stuff in it. Like...there's more in each phrase than there is in Waiting for Godot.

I'm tired. Study group tonight. Yippee. I want to take a nap. And have a post that's more than just an update of my day. Hmmmmm. Maybe I'll think some deep thoughts later.

It is GORGEOUS outside today. I think its a good 80 degrees and sunny. spectactular.

RANT

So I've been studying for my Western Civ test all day. It's on Wednesday but requires advanced preperation of looking up and writing about the terms and then memorizing them. And now that I am about 75% done with the terms, I have come to the conclusion that she is either going to have to cut stuff off of our test or move the test from this Wednesday to next Monday because I don't see how we are going to cover the Scientific revolution in one day. Which is what is going to happen if everything is left the way it is. Now, call me crazy, but I think this topic is a little too important to only get one day of discussion. It's crazy, I know, but it just might hold true.

I exchanged some books at Barnes and Noble and got three new books and it is exciting. I don't know where I'm going to find the time, but I think I can manage it somehow.

Grey's Anatomy tomorrow night. Exciting.

I am mad at the Catholic Church. Not the one now. The one in like, the 1500's and such. And I'm mad at the idiot monarchs and what they did to each other and their people. Like Henry VIII. Asshole. Had his wives beheaded for "adultry" (not possible as he also claimed their marriages to him were never legitimate) when in reality it was all because of him (as we all know, the father determines the sex of the child) what a jerk. And Mary, Queen of Scots, was crowned Queen when she when she was 6 months old to avoid political issues (caused once again by HENRY VIII WHAT AN ASS!!) and all the marriages (a.k.a. political alliances) and really pointless wars for land and trade and these people threw away lives like Paris Hilton with her boyfriends or MC Hammer with his money. I mean...these people called the Native Americans barbarians. Europe, probably up until World War I, was absolutely mundane and ridiculous and sooo incredibly backwards and barbaric and it's hard to think of when look at it now. I mean, certain places were exceptions at different times, but overall, the political rulers were probably some of the most irresponsible rulers I have ever seen. I mean, there are those today who would give them a run for their money, considering todays are democratically elected and the other ones were born into it but that is not the point. Those monarchs were idiots when it came to ruling a country. IDIOTS I SAY! OK, enough ranting, back to Western Civ.

she cooks them dinner and is very mysterious and hides in some scenes

My French teacher hates me. I'm not even mean or sarcastic in her class either. She just hates me for no reason. I mean, usually, I'll admit, I'm a smart ass and give teachers a reason to not like me. Or to like me, depending on whether or not the teacher gets my puntastic comments. But her, she just hates me. It's ridiculous. Sometimes she does that thing where she pretends I don't exist. Which is quite cray cray.

We're reading Great Gatsby in American Dream class. It is tres exciting. And tray bong, tray tray tray bong.

I was rereading Waiting for Godot the other day. It made me happy because of its hardcore awesomeness.

Went to a study abroad session yesterday. It was amazing. I am SO going to London Spring 2007. Exciting. My mom still thinks I'm going to Florence...but I think London has won. Because London, as all we Tringers know, is the most amazing place ever.

I read a lot. It's crazy. Wake up, eat, class, read, read, read, eat, read, class, read, and so on. I'm not complaining, I'm just saying I read a lot. I'm listening to Wicked now. I was listening to "Where is my mind" by the Pixies but then it ended and now it's on Wicked. Eh. I should really go read for Shakespeare even though we're a day behind the scheduled reading. If I don't read he will surely do 2 acts in one day. And then I would be le confused. Should read for Western Civ too (haha! PUN!...a really really bad one).

Not feeling too deep today. Must do a French partner project tonight after band. Hopefully it will not take too long because I want to go to Fair Trade. Tommorow is THE OC. Exciting. Not as exciting as Sunday will be though because Grey's Anatomy...holy eff goodness me that is going to make my life complete. Cus it's the best show ever.

Whoever likes To Kill A Mockingbird (one of the best books ever written by a person). and has 10 free minutes, should watch How to Kill a Mockingbird. Cus it's minutes of pure awesome.

"There was a lens glare...and MOTION BLUR!"
"The pirates were like, we're gonna explode! And then they exploded just like they predicted!"

Um yeah that video pretty much makes my life worth living. Kudos to Standford.

ugh, what an emo post

See the stone set in your eyes
See the thorn twist in your side
I wait for you

Sleight of hand and twist of fate
On a bed of nails she makes me wait
And I wait without you

With or without you
With or without you

Through the storm we reach the shore
You give it all but I want more
And I’m waiting for you
With or without you
With or without you
I can’t live
With or without you

Nothing like a movie night with the girls to make you realize the complexities of boys and the heart and relationships.

Reread some of The Sun Also Rises today. I sometimes wonder if I'm turning into Brett. I try to avoid it, but my lack of understanding of my own feelings and wants only adds fuel to the fire.

Tomorrow: a day of studying and paper writing. Perhaps it will take my mind off things.
