wicked
ok. so. summer has been like a roller coaster, constantely going back and forth between boring and busy. one day i have absolutely nothing to do and the next i have so much i can't even think straight. not that the busy stuff is very important or meaningful. but it passes the time and is occasionally amusing.i'm currently reading Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West. it is uh-mazing. i call it the Grendel of the Wizard of Oz (langford alums you know what i mean). I am seriously empathizing with the Witch right now (or Ephalba as her actual name is). She is for sure the best tragic hero ever. Beats out Grendel I think. For starters, she's green. GREEN! how cool is that? not only my favorite color, but my political party as well. double points for that. Plus, she's indepedant, she's not religious, and she goes underground to try and overthrow and evil dictatorship government. ok. that right there just makes her the coolest character ever, but to top it all off....she's magical. she rides a broom and can do magicy things. and did i mention she's hilarious? ok. so. settled. Ephalba the Wicked Witch of the West is by far the coolest fictional character ever created. She makes Harry Potter look like a....well i don't know, not very cool fictional character. so psha.
so monday is the star wars thing...seniors are you ready? je ne sais pas the time or theater yet. probably a seven-ish showtime. wheee for summer and doing stupid things.
k. fri pam and i saw sisterhood of the traveling pants. it was pretty good. i want to read the books. i'll have to hit up the library sometime soon. i officially have a summer reading list and summer movie watching list. which is way better than any other reading list i've ever had because I'm the one who chose all the books. score! it's exciting. and....it seems i have lost it. hmmm. oh. i think its in my purse. je will have to check on that.
and what else is new? i dunno. fran refuses to e-mail me back. i think she's hating me for not e-mailing her for like 3 weeks leading up to and during the AP tests. oh well. actually, she's probably just busy enjoying her holiday, what? oh. i'm writing a novel. it was going to be a play, but it turns out it works better as a novel since what i'm saying doesn't really come off well in an all dialogue environment. so its a novel. in its verhy earliest stages. i'm taking it slowly. it will probably take me awhile to write. like 2 years. and part of me really wants to take my satire and expand into a longer, novella length work. but that will have to wait because i'm busy with my other story now AND i don't think i should expand that satire until i'm older and more ready to. it needs more life experiences in it. I need more life experiences to fix it. and more education. and more practice. which is partly why i'm writing this novel. it's tentatively called "A Satire on American Culture for the Educated Citizen". Sounds boring, no? but it is not. just a title to scare away stupid conservatives (stupid is modifying the invisible word "people" and not the political ideiology though god/lord/heaven/allah/some mysterious higher power/nothingness knows i don't agree with it)
hmmmbored.
off to finish wicked and then maybe buy some disposable waterproof cameras for our trip to florida nex weekend.

Uhh that movie sucks...the book rules though. So read the book, or should I say books (there are three)
Hey Kelly good to see that you're reading, since that is so unlike you! I am just observing that you are enjoy the book I recommended to you snaps for me! Who would have ever thought that you could identify with elphaba..oh yeah me! woo hoo! Oh it's also nice to see that my random sound vocabulary is wearing off on you. For clarification only, i think Pshaw is writing like that rather than psha, but whatever!
